Abstract
Children with CKD have unique nutritional needs to help achieve important clinical targets in the setting of impaired kidney function. The desire to attain adequate growth and normal psycho-social and physical development while minimizing comorbidities, impacts these needs. Strategies to meet the nutritional needs must also take into account the varying age dependent challenges across the pediatric spectrum. Frequent assessment is important, with contributions from the entire dialysis team including the family essential to designing an optimal nutrition regimen.
