Description
Alice Berry Graham is credited by her sister as the founder of Children's Mercy Hospital. Alice and Katharine Berry Richardson founded the hospital together in 1897. She was trained as a dentist; however, from the founding of the hospital until 1911 Alice was responsible for the administration and fundraising for Children's Mercy. She published The Messenger as a way to communicate hospital matters to the citizens of Kansas City. She passed away in 1913 after a long battle with cancer.
