Robert Hall is credited with establishing the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children's Mercy. He joined Children's Mercy in 1972 and grew the NICU into the thriving department it is today. He worked to establish partnerships with community hospitals to transfer sick newborns to Children's Mercy where they would receive the best care.
