Description

Two nurses attend a young Black patient in "The Emma W. Robinson Free Bed NO COLOR LINE" bed.

In the early 20th century, Black children couldn't openly be treated at Children's Mercy. Katharine Richardson partnered with Wheatley Provident Hospital to ensure all children were able to receive medical care. This bed at Children's Mercy was endowed to allow a few Black children to be treated at Children's Mercy.
