Abstract
At home in your domestic practice or while on international surgical mission trips, improving value in the operating room (OR) requires a multifaceted strategy aimed at reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and maintaining excellent outcomes. Key components include preoperative planning, communication among surgical teams, and the utilization of databases for follow-up and research. Practical methods to enhance value include simplifying surgical instrument trays, optimizing implant selection, minimizing disposable waste, improving anesthesia workflow, and incorporating donated or cost-effective supplies.
