Abstract
Value-based care can be effectively applied to the treatment of benign bone tumors and cysts in children. Costs can be reduced by accurately diagnosing the lesion and appropriately managing the lesion without an unnecessary transfer to higher levels of care. Most benign bone tumors can be safely observed. However, special attention should be given to lesions located in the proximal femur, pelvis, and spine due to their higher risk for complications.
